Ocoee

On Sunday we did a little mountain biking, then headed for the pools to cool off.  Little did we know how COOL - actually FRIGID.  Nevertheless, 3 out of 4 of us submerged....of course, I had to stay out to take the photos.....Usually by the end of May it's stinking hot already but not this year!

Gathering up courage to go in.  It didn't help that a lot of the rocks were slippery.

Are we?

Ah, we braved the icy water!

These rocks are slippery!

Climbing up a little "waterfall".
(Actually the photographer DID get in up to the waist....)

Flowers in the spring garden

Some of our May flowers, brought on by Apr-,  no -  May, showers.

Iris

Rose cluster

Ah, so beautiful

More of the cluster

Our Encore azalea giving the first show.  It's always later than the others and then comes back for an autumn encore....

Our "wild" rose bush.  It's getting huge.

What a show.

Love this colour - and this photo isn't enhanced or anything.

Just wish it would grow laterally along the road instead of in a large clump that keeps getting bigger!

Star names in the constellations

Amazing that the original names of stars in the constellations have names that reflect the meaning of the constellations from millennia back.  Here are just a few examples.

Ursa Major or the Big Dipper

This depicts the story of Jesus as Shepherd of His flock

Depicting the battle between God and Satan, the Serpent

Explaining the curse brought onto Satan in the garden

Libra

Depicting the great price Christ paid on the Cross and how we are covered by His Blood, "the price that covers"

Leo

Jesus comes as the powerful Lion, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, to put an end to sin forever.
There are many more examples of these. These photos are from a lecture by Ron Malloch at campmeeting, 2013.

Stay out of Poison Ivy

Here are some photos of the garden and Poison Ivy which had become infected....don't look if you're queasy!

Our azaleas this year

DD took these next few shots

I like her perspective

Head butting?

Ha, that was funny!
We enjoyed a week's visit from Grandma and Grandpa a couple weeks ago.
OK, now the disclaimer again.  You can end here if you're queasy.

Ach, too much scratching, left arm.

Right arm.  Nice!
