A few garden pics

Some fruit of the garden, 2014.

Tomatoes and parsley

Hoping the rain will slow down so the tomatoes develop properly

A zucchini that escaped being found for a day or two

Coming along
We'll need another bucket before long

Looking green

Another one.  Cucumber in the foreground; tomatoes, squash and other stuff in various places.  Corn out of sight to the right.

Cole slaw and salad to be on the menu...

Signal Point hike and swim

A couple weeks ago we were foolhardy brave enough to hike down to some dirty brown stinky beautiful waterfalls from Signal Point.  Nothing fazed the kids who quickly jumped in and got cool.

A view along the way

Couldn't get the camera out fast enough to catch a vulture below eye level soar by

Tennessee river canyon
Thank you, thank you, to the persons responsible for the very helpful rope on this impossibly steep and slippery section!

Being wet didn't help the path

Ahh, refreshing cool-off

Water not deep at all

Straight back up

Camping

I can't  tell you where we camped because there are so few prime camping spots and if you tried to come camp there you would be disappointed... so I'll save you that disappointment and just show you pictures.

When we first arrived it was socked in and rainy.  As I intimated before, we got a prime spot - not sure how...but it was the last available lakeside spot - and the best!

You'll see a lot of reflections

From our site looking west

Carpet of ferns on the lake trail

Our spot from across the lake.  Isn't that perfect?

On Thursday.  This mist came in in just seconds and literally five minutes later it looked like the photo below.

DM and C in the canoe

More luscious ferns.  We did hear of bear in the vicinity so kept a good lookout.

Someone heading for the swimming dock

Although the water was chilly, most of the kids still swam in it a lot.

Warming up by the fire afterwards

It was full moon while we were there.

The moon setting on Sabbath, (early morning)

A wild azalea

Large azalea bush (this is on our 3.5 mile {5.5 km} hike to the fire tower)

Guess who came up on Sabbath?

Enjoying the sun

Canoeing in the evening

Enjoying the candles hung by the F's

Early morning swim (Friday)

Oops, no focus but you get the idea.

On the way home we thought our house might be on fire... but only a field.

PF Ocoee Outing

Praying for good weather, we all piled into vans and cars and headed out to Parksville Lake (also known as the Ocoee lake) for a day of water sports, swimming and fun.

On the tubes.  Two at a time.

The one motorboat took kids out to wakeboard and ski but disappeared for hours at a time...so all my pics are of the other boat.

C and SJ on the tubes.

We had several benches to put our stuff on and enjoyed the shade

More people arrived by 11 or 12

They also used a jet-ski for rides and also wake-boarding. (This little child is from another group.)
